Mason Cooley said, “Reading gives us some place to go when we have to stay where we are.”

A Center Stage Moment shines a spotlight on writers who give us great places to visit with the characters we love and want to call friends.

Today, I have the pleasure of introducing to you—S.W. Frontz!

I’m the author of the Land’s End Series and my second novel, Don’t Look Back, won the 2017 Top Female Author Award. I’m also a finalist in the “50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading” contest. My third novel, Closer Than Yesterday, is a finalist in the 2018 Golden Books Awards.

I’ve been married to Rusty for 22 years and we have a 14 year Chihuahua terrier mix named Mandy.

Have you always wanted to be a writer?

When I was a kid.  I put it on the back burner until about 5 years ago.

Why did you choose to write your genre?

It’s what I like to read.

Currently, what are you working on?

It’s called “Sins of the Fathers”

Let’s talk about your latest book for a moment. What motivated the plot?

I really don’t know.

What was the hardest story for you to write?

The one I’m working on now.  It’s in its 4th rewrite.

Do any of your characters reflect facets of your personality?

Who has been your favorite character? Why?

It varies.  I love all my female mc.

What process do you use to plan your novels?

I’m a pantster.  I don’t plan.

Have you ever experienced writer’s block? If so, how did you overcome it?

I experience it constantly.  I usually step away from the story for a while.  Unfortunately, it causes me to rethink my plot; hence the 4th rewrite on latest wip.

If you were to choose another genre to write in, what would it be?

Southern humor.  Because I have plenty of material to work with.
