It’s time to take a look at last week’s goals…
First, how was your weekend? Mine was pretty good. I bought a really cool collapsible wagon for carting myself around at signings. I ordered items I needed as well. Let’s see how I did last week.
1) LAST WEEK’S GOALS:
*Continue draft on Delivering Sin. I’ve been writing a chapter a day. At the end of the week, I hope to be at Chapter Twelve. I’m at Chapter Nine. I had to put the draft aside for a few days as I worked on the edits for Blessed Hearts.
*I need to draft the book description for Delivering Sin, too. I jotted down some ideas, but this is still a work in progress.
*Continue making teasers and graphics for Blessed Hearts. Start formulating concept for trailer. I made a trailer. Check it out here. I’ve also made up some teasers.
2) THIS WEEK’S GOALS:
*Continue draft on Delivering Sin. Goal is to reach Chapter Fourteen.
*Make up countdown graphics for Blessed Hearts.
*Draft book description for Delivering Sin.
3) A FAVORITE LINE OR PASSAGE FROM MY STORY THAT SUMS UP WHAT I WROTE/REVISED:
Saahir’s eyes lift and he stares at me. “Your friend is indeed near the water, but it will be difficult for you to reach her. There is a beach known as the Secret Beach. You’ll find it at Point Reyes Station.”
“I’m not familiar with it.”
“You can only get there during very low tide. Within the rock there is a doorway. To those who don’t know, it’s just a way to enter into another area. An amphitheater. But for this spirit, it will take your friend into his world.”
Jake Carter is a student of mysticism. One of his mentor’s is a shaman living in Santa Barbara. Saahir has traveled to the spirit realm on numerous occasions. In this passage, he’s explaining what will ultimately happen to Sinatra.
4) THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE I FACED LAST WEEK:
Last week wasn’t too bad. I had to take a few days to work on editing Blessed Hearts. I had a few spots I needed to address with either more dialogue or more narrative. I’m pleased with what I accomplished.
5) SOMETHING I LOVE ABOUT MY WIP:
I’m enjoying the dark, magical world of Delivering Sin. Jake is a mere human using his connections and exploring the occult in battling a malevolent deity. Intertwining these elements without getting off-track is challenging, but fun.
How I’m feeding my soul this week…
For the first time in a long while, I’ve got multiple ARCs and books to read. One ARC is due the first of July. The other is due at month’s end. Could be interesting, especially with Utopia Con looming.
I also want to thank all of you who have downloaded my post-apocalyptic techno thriller, Regress. It made #1 in its category on Amazon. So exciting!!
That’s it for now.
