It’s time to take a look at last week’s goals…
First, how was your weekend? Mine was fairly decent. The heat and humidity made a reappearance in Hotlanta so on came the A/C. I got a chance to start watching SyFy’s “12 Monkeys”. For the final season, they did a three day marathon airing all the episodes.
When I wasn’t watching an episode, I attempted to get some work done. Let’s see how I did.
1) LAST WEEK’S GOALS:
*Continue draft on Delivering Sin. I finished Act One!
*Create teasers and other graphics for Blessed Hearts. Work in progress. I’ve created a few teasers. I still need to create a trailer.
2) THIS WEEK’S GOALS:
*Continue draft on Delivering Sin. I’ve been writing a chapter a day. At the end of the week, I hope to be at Chapter Twelve.
*I need to draft the book description for Delivering Sin, too.
*Continue making teasers and graphics for Blessed Hearts. Start formulating concept for trailer.
3) A FAVORITE LINE OR PASSAGE FROM MY STORY THAT SUMS UP WHAT I WROTE/REVISED:
Enough with the kid gloves. I can’t help her if she won’t talk to me. I put the brakes on my frustration and slowly say, “Listen Sinatra, I’m here to help you. If this man hurt you, we’ll go to the police together. The district attorney is a friend of the family. We can have this taken care of right away. But you need to tell me what happened.” [Jake Carter from Delivering Sin]
Jake is the good guy in this story. He’s in love with the main character, but she is more in love with the idea of finding a wealthy man. Sinatra Neeley believes money will take care of those issues she deems problematic in her life. At one point, Jake and Sinatra dated. They were pretty serious, he thought, until she broke up with him. Years later, their paths cross. Despite their history, he’s still in love with her and willing to help. And she definitely needs somebody’s help.
4) THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE I FACED LAST WEEK:
Prioritizing. For some reason I got away from using my daily calendar. Without it, I spent each day trying to figure out what was important and what could wait. I’ll need to go back to it for the coming week in order to get things done.
Right now, I’m doing a juggling act. I have Utopia Con coming up. I need to make plans for it. I also need to make plans for the other events this summer. As well as finishing Delivering Sin. I pushed back the pub date on Rebel in order to focus on Delivering Sin, and address any changes my editor suggests for Rebel.
5) SOMETHING I LOVE ABOUT MY WIP:
I’m enjoying incorporating Egyptian mythology in this story. There are elements of the paranormal in the plot as well. Two things I haven’t seen combined in a lot of other romance stories.
How I’m feeding my soul this week…
I’ll be starting an ARC by Shawn McGuire.
That’s it for now.
