It’s time to take a look at last week’s goals…
First, how was your weekend? Mine wasn’t too bad. I got some work done. It was a necessity to avoid working on my birthday! So far, I don’t have any big plans. I simply don’t want to be in the office all day. Might catch a movie with the minion.
1) LAST WEEK’S GOALS:
*Continue revisions of Blessed Hearts. Almost done! I have two chapters that I’ll probably knock out later today.
*Continue draft on Delivering Sin. I have three chapters done so far.
2) THIS WEEK’S GOALS:
*Continue draft on Delivering Sin.
*Create teasers and other graphics for Blessed Hearts.
3) A FAVORITE LINE OR PASSAGE FROM MY STORY THAT SUMS UP WHAT I WROTE/REVISED:
This quote is one of my favorites. Cash is in Hell with the blue djinni. He’s discovered what it really means to suffer for an eternity.
Here’s the passage before the quote:
One would think I wouldn’t be a stranger to pain. I’ve encountered my fair share in my life time, and even inflicted it on others as a tattoo artist. This suffering is markedly different. It pierces and cuts, shredding my insides. The urge to sink to my knees and curl up like a baby wars with the need to keep moving.
“Stop fighting against it,” Hadid advises.
I barely hear him speaking to me. “Huh?”
“This pain feeds off your emotions and thoughts. If you desire for it to stop, it continues. Try to ignore it or redirect your thinking. If you don’t care, the pain will pass you by.”
Needless to say, Cash’s trip to Hell is going to put him in touch with his feelings one way or another.
4) THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE I FACED LAST WEEK:
Obscurity. This was a new one for me. It manifested itself all week. I felt invisible to the world, and even wondered why I was on this journey. Talk about pity party. It didn’t dissipate until Friday when I read feedback from a reader. That turned my thinking around and put me back on the right track.
5) SOMETHING I LOVE ABOUT MY WIP:
I love the characters in Blessed Hearts. After thinking about it for a minute, I decided there will be at least three more stories set in Falls Creek. All of them will be New Adult Paranormal Romances centered around Brady Romero (the Alpha for the Romero Werewolves and owner of Balls Up! sports bar and grill), Nathan “the Soul Assassin”, and Edwina Devereaux (there’s a hint of a little something between her and a were-panther in Blessed Hearts).
How I’m feeding my soul this week…
I’m almost done reading Sarah J. Maas’s The Court of Wings And Ruin. Afterward, I have a couple of ARCs to read by Shawn McGuire and M.H. Soars.
That’s it for now.
