It’s time to take a look at last week’s goals…
First, how was your weekend? It was a gorgeous, hot weekend in Atlanta! I dropped off a book at the indie bookstore I mentioned last week. We’ll see if anything comes from it.
1) LAST WEEK’S GOALS:
*For All Things Dark & Magickal, finish Act Two. Done! I started the first chapter in Act Three.
*For Delivering Sin, finish research and write out premise of story. Almost there. I’m still doing some research, and the plotting is almost finished.
2) THIS WEEK’S GOALS:
*Continue with All Things Dark & Magickal. The goal? Finishing by Saturday.
*Reading through Blessed Hearts for revision work.
*Continue research and plotting on Delivering Sin. Will start draft once ATD&M is completed.
3) A FAVORITE LINE OR PASSAGE FROM MY STORY THAT SUMS UP WHAT I WROTE/REVISED:
I reach for Tamara’s hand one more time. “How do I say goodbye to you, Tamara? Living without you is going to be bloody hard. But I’d rather live a thousand lifetimes alone than know you’re dead because of me.” [Trevor Cuthbert, All Things Dark & Magickal]
This passage marks Trevor’s goodbye to Tamara in the twenty-first century. It’s his grand gesture on her behalf.
4) THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE I FACED LAST WEEK:
Hurry up syndrome. It’s the result of “I want it now” mentality. As I tell my husband, I want to sit at the big girl table. It’s the place where all the most popular, most talented indie authors hang out. They plan projects together and develop awesome anthologies that do well in sales. Hubby said I’ll get there if I just keep writing. In the meantime, find a little patience.
5) SOMETHING I LOVE ABOUT MY WIP:
I love the imagery behind All Things Dark & Magickal. My husband works with Hollywood (he’s a colorist). When I read him the premise behind ATD&M (before I started the draft), he said he could see it on the big screen. That nearly floored me. I’ve put a lot of work into creating the world of Crowley, England. I never imagined it would be that dynamic.
How I’m feeding my soul this week…
I’m in the middle of a Nikki Belaire novel. I just love this series!
That’s it for now.
