Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty good. I sent my novella off to the editor. I also went to see J.K. Rowling’s “Fantastic Beasts” with the family. We celebrated two birthdays (my husband’s last Thursday) and my daughter’s today. They decided that we should have a family movie night.
I even got a Funko Pop out of the deal:
Let’s see how I did with last week’s goals…
1) LAST WEEK’S PROJECTIONS:
*Continue with the rough draft. By the end of next week I should be at 19,995 words. I completed 19,254 words.
*Start revisions on Cursed Hearts. Working on it.
*Do final read through on short story, Impact, before submission. Not done.
2) THIS WEEK’S PROJECTIONS:
*Continue with the rough draft of Renegade. By week’s end I should be at 28,406 words.
3) A FAVORITE LINE OR PASSAGE FROM MY STORY THAT SUMS UP WHAT I WROTE/REVISED:
“You should understand that some friends don’t come with benefits.” [Liam Martinez, rough draft of Renegade]
This is the last line of a scene between Liam and Mark. It sums up where the two are in their relationship.
4) THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE I FACED LAST WEEK: Not having enough time. I looked at what I needed to do and what I’ve done so far: I have completed rough drafts and revisions to do. I also have a couple of more rough drafts to do for 2017. It seems daunting at times. I’ll basically be putting out a book every month or so. Other times it seems completely doable. I’m sure adjustments will need to be made. I’ll just have to go with the flow.
5) SOMETHING I LOVE ABOUT MY WIP: Mark Carter’s story is probably the most difficult one out of the series. When I started I thought I’d have a hard time writing about a bisexual man. I didn’t think I’d be able to write a truly heartfelt moment between two men. It took a moment for me to realize that the story wasn’t about his sexuality. It’s about the people in his life and how he handles those relationships.

How am I feeding my soul this week…
I’ll finishing Courtney Ruggles’ ARC soon.
That’s it for this week.
