Happy Fourth of July! I hope you’re enjoying your holiday. Ribs take a while to cook. So while they simmer, let’s see how I did with last week’s projections…
1) LAST WEEK’S PROJECTIONS:
*Do final read through of Rescue. DONE!! This went to the editor on Friday.
*While at Utopia Con, I learned about another anthology. I need to finish plotting this short story. I have a rough outline. The finished product is due August 31st.
*Worldbuilding for my collaborative project. Done!
*Rewrite the Amazon description for Regress. Done!
2) THIS WEEK’S PROJECTIONS:
*Begin the rough draft for my short story, tentatively titled “Demon Stalker”. I need to write 400 words daily to make it to 10,000. Total words this week=2,400 words.
3) A FAVORITE LINE OR PASSAGE FROM MY STORY THAT SUMS UP WHAT I WROTE/REVISED: [Tru’s POV]
My arms encircle his neck and I pull him closer. I need this.
Zared’s warm hands graze my back. He won’t hurt me.
What starts as gentle becomes frenzied, but with him I welcome it. He loves me.
Life hasn’t been easy for Tru in this book. She’s had a major catastrophe and this scene is Tru processing what happened while accepting affection from Zared.
4) THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE I FACED LAST WEEK: Utopia Hangover. It’s a real thing. Monday was a wash. I couldn’t focus. I needed my tribe around me. By Wednesday it became easier. I miss my ‘family’.
5) SOMETHING I LOVE ABOUT RESCUE: This book was truly a labor of love. I had a tribe working with me, encouraging me to turn out my best work. I’m very proud of Rescue. I can’t wait for you to read it.
I do not plan on doing beta reads because of all the work my tribe did. If you were a beta reader for Regress and you’d like to receive an ARC of Rescue, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
That’s it for this week!
