Very appropriate for this Monday. I had a long weekend with very little sleep. No excuses! Time to get back to work.
Let’s see how I did with my writing goals (now called projections).
1) LAST WEEK’S PROJECTIONS:
*Continue revising the rough draft for Rescue. DONE! I’m on the last third of the draft. Good thing–ideas for book three keep fogging up the picture.
*Set up website. DONE! It was a little stressful in the beginning. Choosing an appropriate theme which was easy to work with was the hardest part of the task. Well… After dealing with the domain name and all the other technical issues.
*Send out newsletter. DONE! This was another fun project. I look forward to upping the ante next month. Maybe a giveaway? Be sure to sign up for the newsletter!
2) THIS WEEK’S PROJECTIONS:
*Continue revising the rough draft for Rescue. I have another 25 pages of previously written material to sift through. I still want to add another 11,211 words (if possible). After doing some revising on book one I removed a few chapters from book two. I’d like to regain those lost words.
*Revisit my project board and writing calendar. My next scheduled rough draft to be written is Restore, The Alliance Chronicles Book Three which will conclude the trilogy. I’m also writing a prequel novella to be released in November right before Demon’s Birthright. I’m reconsidering rearranging some things since Restore isn’t scheduled for release until early 2017.
*Meet with my critique partner to work on Rescue.
*Go over plans for my next Facebook event (dystopian fans get ready)!
3) A FAVORITE LINE OR PASSAGE FROM MY STORY THAT SUMS UP WHAT I WROTE/REVISED: [A little introspection from Tru] It was the perfect kiss. The one to erase every bad memory I’d ever had. It created the perfect moment. A vivid reminder that true love can’t be stolen or commanded. It can’t be bartered or even controlled. You see, true love, everlasting love, can only be given freely with every ounce of your soul. Much like a whisper against silk, true love must be caressed. Encouraged. Nurtured like the finest of wines. No one can rush it.
4) THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE I FACED LAST WEEK: Building this site! Need I say more?
5) SOMETHING I LOVE ABOUT MY WIP: It’s the reason why I’m considering moving things around. My prequel novella (there will be two novellas) is about Asher Jones. More of his story revealed itself to me over the weekend. I’m excited to get it down on paper. The other novella has yet to present itself completely. I know what the premise is, but it’s no way near ready for seeing the light of day.
That’s it for this week!
2016 promises to be a fantastic year. I’m looking forward to sharing my journey with you.
