Deja vu….my body is screaming in pain! Everything hurts, but it was a small price to pay since I saw friends and made new ones over the weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed the first ever Great Lakes Book Bash in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Shout out to authors Casey L. Bond and Rachael Brownell for such a fabulous event!
Okay, let’s talk about what else I did last week.
1. So, how did I do last week? My posted goals:
*Continue work on rough draft for second WIP. Still working! I really focused on doing line edits.
*Continue working on short story. Kind of stalled. I wrote half a scene and stopped. I know how I want to end the story. I’m deciding if the scene I started needs to be written the way I have it. Wrote some notes while I was on the road. Got to implement them.
*Continue line edits. Thanks to my prep for my road trip, I didn’t finish. So, I’ll be working hard this week on editing FIRST.
2. THIS WEEK’S GOALS:
*Continue work on rough draft for second WIP.
*Continue working on short story. GOAL: Finish the rough draft.
*Finish line edits.
*Work on plan for NaNoWriMo.
3. A FAVORITE LINE FROM MY STORY OR ONE WORD/PHRASE THAT SUMS UP WHAT I WROTE/REVISED: This line is from the vampire fic short story. The main character, Tabitha, likes to nickname people when she doesn’t know their name. Golden Boy is the nickname she gave to the handsome dhampir because of his golden hair.
Golden Boy eyed me like I was a piece of meat in a vegetarian buffet.
Loved the visual on this one!
4. THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE I FACED LAST WEEK: Time. Just didn’t seem to have enough time to do everything. The new fall tv season is killing me. I use the DVR quite a bit, but with 4 shows on at the same time….I’ve been making sure I finish my writing goals for the day before I indulge. It’s great incentive to wrap up my work day. Without it, I can easily work 12 hours and not notice. But, now I’ve discovered “The Originals” and started binge watching on Netflix! I so didn’t need another program. If you haven’t seen it, watch it. It’s in its 3rd season. Warning! It’s addictive. Marcel is sexy as all get out!
5. SOMETHING I LOVE ABOUT MY WIP: Just when I think it’s done, something else comes out of it. I needed a motivation for a secondary character. Well, that morphed into a serious backstory. I may just write the second novella about that backstory.
Well, that’s this week’s update. Remember, life’s short and there are NO guarantees. Embrace it and enjoy yourself! Have a great week!
Keep reading. Keep following.
