Hi everyone! I want to take a moment to talk about charity and books.
Many of us have the ability to pick up our fave reads at our local library. Imagine not having one. Without a library, your only options are buying a book (which can be pricey) or borrowing from a friend.
No child should be without a book. After all, books are an escape from harsh reality for a lot of people. For others, it allows a journey to lands we may never visit. Without readers, we lose our pool of aspiring writers.
Right now, you have the power to help a group if children make friends with books. Help a school in South Africa build its library! A good friend of mine, author Carlyle Labuschagne, is building a library in her hometown. She’s in need of new and gently used books!
This link will give you info about the project and a flyer.
Share this worthwhile project with anyone you know who can help. Thank you for helping in a worthwhile cause.
It also makes a great project for educators looking for a service project for their classes.
