I Read YA Week (May 18 – 22)

If you’ve been reading my blog, it’s no secret that I read young adult books.Why? There’s an innocence in young adult books that can’t be found in adult books. Do you remember your first boyfriend? How about your first day of high school? How about your first kiss? Life is full of firsts. We experience them as adults, but they seem to be so much more when we experienced them as a teen. A first kiss to a teen is awe inspiring. It’s the rainbow after a rain shower. It’s the first heartbeat felt in love. It’s the cherry on top of the banana split. Teen firsts can be as thrilling as a roller coaster ride or as magical as a Disney movie.

That magic. That thrill. That’s what I want to capture. And, that’s why I’m writing YA as well.
